The first company to establish a fresh pet food business in Singapore (way back in 2013), Pet Cubes has now grown to a full scale manufacturer of fresh pet food, with their very own 5,000sqf factory right here in Singapore! Meat is imported directly from Australia, New Zealand and Holland, then processed and packed for local retailers. You’ll also find human-grade organic veggies like kale and lentils – yum! If you’re not familiar with the brand, mama (it’s the #1 selling pet food brand in Singers, by the by), they use Japanese technology to quickly pack and seal pet food that actually comes in handy little modular cubes, SO convenient! With both “gently cooked” and “raw” varieties available, Pet Cubes are designed in consultation with nutritionists and exceed the minimum international pet food standards.

We’ve sourced many a doggie birthday cake from this lovely little family business in Joo Chiat, which is all about making the tastiest, healthiest treats for your pooch. The Barkery only uses human-grade ingredients that are rigorously screened to ensure not just safety, but also nutritional value and deliciousness for Fido. Their all-natural cakes (including both full-sized birthday cakes and adorably named individual Pupcakes), cookies and pies are completely free of artificial colourings, preservatives and flavours; and yet they are absolutely gorgeous (true story: my daughter tried to eat a slice of Avon’s mutton-flavoured birthday cake!). Just be sure to order in advance (you can call or use the handy website); these treats are made with care and need to be freshly prepared just before consumption (for instance to apply a fresh layer of vegetable icing!).

Looking for delicious, healthy treats for your dog or cat? So were the founders of Barking Good! Off-the-shelf treats were never good enough for their precious Maltipoo, Noodles, so they started baking their own. After many failed attempts, they’ve developed a range of tasty, artisanal treats to share with your pups. Their studio is AVA licensed, and they’ve even worked with Nanyang Polytechnic’s Food Safety Centre to test the shelf-life of most treats. Each and every item is lovingly handmade with the finest ingredients, and baked only after orders are placed to ensure maximum freshness. Customisable biscuits can keep for up to 4 weeks in the fridge, too!
