Who’s excited for Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2?! We can’t wait to catch the family film after waiting 14 years. Little did we know there are loads of incredible parenting lessons to learn from Mr Incredible and Elastigirl!
Any millennials in the house? Who would’ve thought it’s been 14 years since the debut of The Incredibles, the iconic Disney Pixar film about a family of supers who work together to fight crime in their city! This June, Incredibles 2 is finally busting into cinemas and bringing our favourite characters back to the big screen – Mr Incredible, Elastigirl and their kids Dash, Violet and Jack-Jack!
This time round it’s mama’s turn to head back to work, so as Helen (aka Elastigirl, voiced by Holly Hunter) goes back out there to battle the forces of evil, dad Bob (or Mr Incredible, voiced by Craig T. Nelson) takes over as parent in charge to navigate the day-to-day heroics of ‘normal’ life. The already tough transition is made tougher by the fact that everyone’s still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers – which range from laser vision to transforming into a little monster. When a new villain hatches a dangerous plan, the family and their super friend Frozone (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again – after all, we are stronger as a family aren’t we?
The real-life heroes are you mamas and dads! Incredibles 2 will have you nodding your heads and going, “Omg, we’re not alone!” so click through our gallery for an important homage to all you incredible parents out there!
Incredibles 2 opens in cinemas on 14 June 2018!
Isn’t this how us mamas and dads look 24/7? When you’re busy putting the kids first, it’s inevitable that something’s gotta give and most times, it’s sleep!
But it’s all worth it the moment we see our bubs tucked into bed, peaceful in dreamland and breathing softly. It’s almost as though they didn’t just wreak havoc from refusing to brush their teeth before bed 10 minutes ago…
You never realise how great you are at multitasking until you become a parent. For mamas it could be having the little one latched on with a sling holding them in place, while simultaneously typing away furiously in order to get work done while the bubs is quiet. For dads it could be surfing the net while rocking the little one to sleep! However you multitask, hey – at least you’re getting the job done!
No matter what you do, with kids around you always have to be prepared! Only you know your kid best so if they start showing symptoms of acquiring a new ‘superpower’ like Jack-Jack (like turning into a monster – who else’s kids are good at that?), you’ve gotta think quick and have something to entice them with – and who doesn’t love cookies?
Only a mama or dad would have the sixth sense that something dangerous could be happening in the next room if the house is a little too quiet.
We’ve all been there. As kids ourselves, any type of green on our plate immediately incited a gag reaction! But as we got older we realised how important it is to get nutrients from our fruits and veggies… and so we impose them on our kids too, because we care about them growing up strong and healthy – no matter how much they dislike it!
Our everyday acts as parents make us the incredible mamas and dads we are. Get your tickets to catch more of Mr Incredible and Elastigirl’s incredible moments with their kids in Incredibles 2, coming to cinemas on 14 June!
