From the sandy beaches, to the ocean views, the cooling sea breezes and an atmosphere that oozes relaxation, it’s not hard to see how Sentosa is the perfect place for a weekend sojourn with the kiddos. With a huge variety of eating and playing spots available for families, knowing where to head to when the munchies set in is half the battle. Thankfully Sentosa is bursting at the seams with family friendly dining options, and here are our top picks that the littl’uns will love too!

Coastes

Located just a hop, skip and a jump away from the sea, Coastes is a Sassy Mama fave for a bit of weekend fun with the fam. This laid back rustic café-meets-beach bar is a great spot for wee ones to jump in the waves or build sandcastles on the beach, while mama and papa munch on breakfast classics like Waffles, Eggs Benedict or Pancakes (weekend brunch is always a popular option!). Wash it all down with an ice cold drink from the beach bar, before stumbling home for nap time (adults included).

Kith [CLOSED]

This breezy seaside java house is a firm fave with families — and for good reason! Kith‘s seriously good coffee, cool kids’ smoothies, and toasted sandwiches are perfect for a casual weekend brunch… but that’s not all mama! A tub of toys for tots and ample of space outside for strollers (do get there early and nab yourself a lounge chair if you can) makes this casual cafe the perfect brunch stop on Sentosa.

As of 2017 Kith’s Sentosa location is now closed. Click here for other locations around Singapore

port belly resto

Port Belly Restaurant at Port of Lost Wonder [CLOSED]

The super popular kids club by the beach, Port of Lost Wonder is also home to the fam-friendly Port Belly Restaurant. With a wide range of Western delights on the menu, this super ‘lax resto is an ideal pit stop after a morning spent splashing around the Port. And the best part? Post lunch, you can send the kiddos back into the huge water ship while you lounge around under the palm trees.

54 Palawan Beach Walk, Singapore 098233
Tel: 1800 736 8672
Open: Mon to Thu & Sun 10am-7pm, Fri & Sat 10am-8pm

Saint Pierre [CLOSED]

Nestled away on the second floor at Quayside Isle, Saint Pierre is perfect for a luxurious weekend meal with the kids! Owned by celebrity chef Emmanuel Stroobant, this Sentosa Cove gem serves delicious brunch fare, like crunchy waffles with berries and some of the best scrambled eggs we’ve ever eaten. They’re also super welcoming to families, with special weekend entertainment for the kids… budding chefs will have a ball making multi-coloured marzipan figurines and decorating cupcakes. You can read our full review here.

Note: Saint Pierre has now relocated to One Fullerton. Click here for full details, mama!

Spuds and Aprons

Spuds & Aprons

With a breathtaking view from the top of Mount Faber (we know it’s not exactly on Sentosa, but near enough!) and a delectable selection of east-meets-west cuisine (mini munchkins can’t get enough of the “Wicked Fries” with gravy… comfort food at its best!), Spuds & Aprons is a lovely little dining spot for families. Friendly staff, vibrant décor, a cable car ride to get there (if you’re game that is!) plus plenty of space for restless kiddos to run around a bit makes this a nice spot on weekends. We especially love that wee ones are encouraged to feed the Koi fish in the nearby pond, while mama and papa chill with a glass of something bubbly.

The Jewel Box, 109 Mount Faber Road, Singapore 099203
Tel: (+65) 6270 8855
Open: Sun to Wed 9am-11pm, Thur 9am-12:30am, Fri to Sat & PH 9am-2am

The Kitchen Table

For an upmarket, but totally fam-friendly dining experience, the bright and whimsical, The Kitchen Table (at the W Hotel) is a super yummy choice. The live cooking stations are always a winner with kids, where talented chefs whip up any assortment of dishes from their broad menu of wood fired pizzas, dim sum, seafood, salad and much much more. It’s not exactly cheap, but for the kind of live-cooking entertainment that keeps little ones busy for more than 10 minutes (plus its fab location and beautiful pool), we’re happy to look the other way!

W Hotel, 21 Ocean Way, Singapore 098374
Tel: (+65) 6808 7268
Open: Mon to Fri 6am-11pm, Sat & Sun 6am-12am

Trapizza

Trapizza

If you’re looking for something a little different for dinner (like letting your little ones play on the beach, while you relax with a cold drink!) then the well-loved Trapizza restaurant is your answer mama! Set up on the beachfront in front of the Shangri La Resort on Siloso Beach, littlies can chow down on wood fired thin-crust pizzas and saucy pastas, before running off to play with bucket and spade on the sand (there’s even a mini playground for teeny tinies to play on). Fearless big kids can even take a leap of faith at the exhilarating Flying Trapeze – it’s just a step away from the restaurant!

Siloso Beach, 51 Imbiah Walk, Singapore 099538
Tel: (+65) 6376 2662
Open: Mon to Sun 11:30am-9:30pm

Special Sassy Mama mention goes to Atmosphere by the Sea (at the Shangri La Resort) with their crazy popular “Sunday Garden Party”. Held each Sunday from 12noon to 3pm, this fresh seafood and champagne extravaganza caters perfectly for littlies too with their weekly magic show and balloon sculpting sessions, as well as children’s buffet and complimentary access to the resort’s swimming pool (with water slides!). Call (+65) 6275 0100 for reservations.
