After the fun of last year’s event, The Affordable Art Fair is returning to the Lion City from 23 to 25 May 2014 and is a must for anyone interested in purchasing contemporary art at affordable prices, with 82 galleries showcasing more than 600 artists. In addition to their fab art buys, the fair also offers a number of family goodies, making it the perfect weekend event with your little culture vultures!

Making art accessible to everyone
Founded in London in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair has become a permanent fixture on the global art scene, making it easy for normal people (like us!) to get their hands on beautiful pieces of art without the hefty price tag. Every piece of art at the fair is priced between $100 and $10,000 (with 75% of the pieces under $7,500 – they even have a fab under $1000 wall!) and with prices clearly marked on all pieces, it’s super easy to find objects within your budget.

Children's Art Studio

Little artists rejoice!
With children at the top of the priority list this year, the Affordable Art Fair has a whole line-up of fun, entertaining and educational activities on offer for families. Kiddos can get creative in The Children’s Art Studio (hosted by the Amazing Art Shuttle) with a whole host of free fun-filled workshops for budding Picassos 4 to 12 years. Rolling up their sleeves, kids can learn art techniques, such as paint blowing, leaf stamping and finger painting (giving mama more time to browse the aisles — stress-free!).

Win a new stroller
As part of the launch of their new range of Andy Warhol inspired strollers, Bugaboo will also be at the fair hosting a fun Instagram photo wall, where mamas can snap a picture against the backdrop then join in their Instagram contest for a chance to win one of these new strollers for themselves (in addition to taking a sneak peek at the newly released Bugaboo + Andy Warhol CameleonBanana stroller of course!).

So if you’re looking for a bit of cultured fun for the family this weekend, definitely look to the Affordable Art Fair to fit the bill mama — your blank walls will thank you!
