FREE Workshops, Performances & More At Goodman Arts Centre’s Inaugural Throwback Event Of The Year

We all know and love Goodman Arts Centre (GAC) as one of Singapore’s largest creative spaces with a rich history as the former Tun Seri Lanang Malay Secondary School, LASALLE College of the Arts and School of the Arts (SOTA). For one day only, GAC brings back a blast from the past at HOME|GROUND, paying tribute to the artists, stories and ideas that have made GAC what it is today. Presented by LASALLE and SOTA Alumni, along with past and present GAC tenants, the inaugural event will be packed with exhibitions, interactive activities, performances and creative sessions to celebrate all the things that have shaped the GAC (we hear there’s even a giant roving puppet)! The best part, they’re all free to attend!

A must-add to your list is the ‘i thought you knew’ series. It brings together artists who have been part of Goodman’s community, sharing snippets of knowledge, skills and experiences along the way. Pick up useful tips and tricks on everyday tasks, from how to press a garment and pack a bag, to hair-tying for kids and how to recover after fumbling your words. There are also unique sessions such as understanding mahjong symbols and patterns, sarong-folding, movement for tired bodies and a child-led conversation about art. All sessions here are free with a $5 refundable deposit – just register here.

While you’re hanging out at GAC for the day, look out for other programmes that traverse themes of memories and independent music. View the full HOME|GROUND programme here.
