Do you remember when Fridays had that special sparkle? When the drudge of the work week was all but forgotten because it was Friday and that meant it was the weekend? Two whole days of bliss and relaxation.
Fridays certainly take on a whole new meaning once you become a Mama. Fridays come at the end of another long week of toddler wrangling. Fridays are the last day of the week you need to be up and out of the door early (for me anyway!). Fridays also mean that it is only one more sleep until your significant other will be around to lend a hand.
Fridays still hold a bit of sparkle these days – just in another form – fun! I try to keep our Fridays open for doing something enjoyable with the toddler. Today we found ourselves at the Forum Shopping Mall on Orchard Road, at the indoor playground up on the 2nd level.
The playground is officially part of the Forum Mall’s Hip Kids Club. I signed up when we first moved here – $15 for a one year membership – and have found the playground particularly suitable for my now 2-year-old. All the equipment is low to the ground and there is nothing (well perhaps maybe just the circus tent!) that Mama has to climb into. Complete with climbing frames, balance beams, a circus tent, ride on bikes, a slide, rubber floors and a ball pit this playground is perfect for toddlers.
In addition to the playground privileges, Hip Kids Club Membership also entitles members to discounts in participating shops in the Forum Mall and also runs a bonus points scheme (100 points for every 100 retail dollars spent in a single day, receipts to be presented to Information Counter on day of purchase).

Originally from Australia, Sarah Fennell landed in Singapore via Hong Kong, where she spent 3 years eating Dim Sum and doing laps of the Peak Trail (in between having a baby and changing nappies). Since arriving in early 2011, Sarah set out to explore the Lion City in search of the perfect cappuccino (for her) and playground (for the toddler). All this exploring – combined with her moderate addiction for online media – lead to the Little Notebook blog, Sarah’s very own corner of the web, where she shares her ideas for enjoying family life in Singapore. In between blogging and child wrangling you’ll find Sarah writing for various online publications – like right here at Sassy Mama!
