The Asian Civilisations Museum is hosting its inaugural Caravanserai event, which aims to champion design, craft and innovation in the space of tradition. Caravanserai brings together several local artists, artisans and craft practitioners, and is inspired by the travelling caravans of past Asian civilisations. In addition to some delicious food and drinks, you’ll also get to browse through and purchase exquisite, handcrafted goods such as homeware, ceramics, face masks, fans and jewellery at the lifestyle marketplace. Look out for local design labels such as Ong Shunmugam, Scene Shang, Orenda’s Crystals, Pubumésu, RaØ Ceramics and more. There are also artisanal programmes for little ones! Sign the family up for pottery painting sessions, embroidery, batik and patchwork classes, or create your own four-piece teacup set in a slipcasting workshop by Ceramication. The workshops are suitable for children aged 8 and above.
