Supporters of the “eat clean” food movement in Singapore; Afterglow is already a fave spot at Sassy Mama. These guys serve unique salads, wraps and deconstructed sushi bowls that are not only wheat-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free but are darn delicious too! Their more-ish desserts, such as their delectable Salted Caramel Chocolate Fudge Cake, will have you questioning all your preconceptions of healthy food not being tasty. There’s no red meat, no dairy, no refined sugars, no preservatives, no additives and no artificial colourings in any of their goodies (phew!). Bollywood Veggies is a farm out in the Kranji countryside but it has made it into this guide because of the healthy Bistro in it – Poison Ivy. Everything is made from the fresh, organic ingredients grown at the farm. Their food museum will teach the whole fam about the history of food culture and the 10-acre farm is full of animals and produce! Mmmm there is so much goodness to be found here, from hearty breakfast bowls and bagels, to build-your-own bowls at lunch and dinner featuring lean proteins (including sirloin steak, grilled salmon, roasted chicken, lentil patties and more), delicious veggies, and grains like quinoa, brown rice, bulgur wheat and “super greens”. It’s slow food, done quickly, all from the foodie minds behind Kilo. Bonus points for two locations (in the CBD and at Tanjong Pagar).

Offering breakfast, lunch, brunch, and juices (not to mention organic wine!), this healthy spot is all about bringing clean, organic food and “functional, healthy-fusion cuisine” to the CBD Mondays through Saturdays. Cold and hot breakfasts (including overnight oats, Acai bowls, and free-range omelettes) are primarily gluten-free, dairy-free and often vegan. We love the surprisingly extensive lunch menu, which features protein bowls, salads, sandwiches and hot entrees (zucchini noodles holla!). Kitchen makes sure to use organic veggies wherever possible, too!

All-Day Brunch…need we say more? Granted not every item on this menu is what we would call ‘clean eating’ (though those tater tots are air-fried), but this Holland Village-adjacent spot will deliver wholesome, hearty ingredients like chicken sausage, grilled salmon with brown rice, tempeh and air-flown veggies, all packed up into tidy bento boxes. We’re particularly tempted by their low-calorie protein cookies in yummy flavours like matcha, dark cacao and charcoal sesame.

This huge, airy, light-filled Dempsey restaurant has a farm-to-table eating philosophy, a fabulously healthy menu and a great outdoor play space for the kiddos to wear themselves out while they wait for their food to arrive. Many ingredients are grown in the on-site garden (say hello to the chickens laying eggs in their coop, too!); and up to 90% of ingredients are sourced from within Singapore. This is more of a dining destination than a takeaway lunch spot, though, as even starters and kids’ menu items start at around $20 each. It’s well worth the trip, though, mamas!

And they’ve got breakfast and yummy desserts, too!
