We are huge fans of reed diffusers, and particularly love the Scents of Singapore line that they carry at Singapore Trading Post. What mama wouldn’t love to close her eyes and inhale a deep scent of tropical flowers like frangipani? This reed diffuser (well priced at $60) comes in a beautiful gift box with a sweet floral scent – evoking memories of tropical beaches and fond holiday memories. As a bonus this makes for a wonderful Singapore souvenir or gift, too! In fact Singapore Trading Post is the perfect shop if you’re after classy Singapore gifts or tropical home décor – all items are sourced from Singapore’s historic trading partners (China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.) and are hand-picked to ensure they come from safe working environments with no child labour. They also offer free delivery in Singapore on orders over $75!

We’re loving these gorgeous Rose Gold Etta Pearl Earrings ($45) that set real Mother of Pearl teardrops within dazzling chevron-shaped ear studs plated with 18 karat rose gold. These are sure to put a smile on any mama’s face!

We all know stylish swimwear is a must for life in Singapore, and mamas should always look and feel fabulous while braving the heat. Enter Seafolly: it’s swimwear born on the beaches of Australia that’s all about heritage, quality and style via bold prints, creative use of texture, and modern cuts that allow the wearer to stand out from the crowd – whether at the condo pool or on a tropical beach somewhere! Be sure to visit one of their Singapore outlets (at Great World City, Raffles City, Takashimaya or Wisma Atria) to check out their new Aussie Dream Collection – or have hubby and the kids treat you to a Sand&Sky Aussie Dream Mask Pack ($69.90) including a clarifying clay mask and a stylish eye mask!

What mama doesn’t love a handmade gift? We’ve noticed a few cool upcoming mall workshops in the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day that would work for younger and older kids alike. Head to Bedok Point for a Bath Bomb-making workshop on 4-5 May or a Puffy Art workshop on 11-12 May. Both workshops run from 12pm to 6pm and only require a $10 minimum spend. Get there early if you can, though, papas, as redemptions are limited to 75 per day.
If mama’s more of a tea lover, or your older kiddo wants some one-on-one time with her, The Centrepoint on Orchard is hosting an “Apoteacary Workshop” on 4-5 May where pairs are invited to learn a bit more about the nutrition and fragrances that go into tea-making, and then try their hand by making their own signature blend. Every $30 spend at any shop at Centrepoint entitles on person to participate in the workshop (with pre-registration available). Go buy your weekly groceries at Cold Storage and you’ll be sorted!

We’ve sung the praises of Dyson’s revolutionary Supersonic hair dryer before (it really does cut down dramatically on drying time!), but now we’ve got our eye on the new Airwrap Styler ($699) – a do-it-all curling iron, hair straightener, dryer and smoothing brush that’s engineered for all hair types. And we’ll admit – we love its pretty pink colour and stylish storage case, too!

Look closely — those aren’t flowers! Foodie mamas will love the DIY Mushroom Bouquet Kit ($17.90) from Mushroom Kingdom, a different kind of fragrant bouquet loaded with 250g of assorted mushrooms including Shitake, White Button, Enoki, Black Jelly Fungus and Shimeji varieties (and in fact the bouquet even does come with filler flowers!). We also like that Mushroom Kingdom is a homegrown business that partners up with local farms in Johor, Malaysia to source super fresh produce that’s delivered within 48 hours of harvest. This makes for a fun and educational little DIY project with kiddos.

Priced at $42.80, each gift set – available in both Less Sweet and Sugar Free varieties – comes with eight bottles of Bird’s Nest that is free of added preservatives or artificial flavouring, and is perfect for any mama who knows her stuff when it comes to health and beauty.
