Maternity clothes made for real women, by real women…who understand the unique fashion challenges posed by the Singapore climate!
Finding contemporary, stylish maternity clothes is a challenge at the best of times, but throw in Singapore’s hot, sticky climate (and combine with the built-in discomfort and hot flashes of pregnancy), and it’s a wonder pregnant mamas here don’t choose to just go au naturel.
Homegrown brand Love, Bonito is changing all that, thankfully. A cool and concerted collection of contemporary designs for modern mamas and mamas-to-be, Love, Bonito is all about helping you celebrate every moment and evolving with you throughout pregnancy…and beyond.
With our colleague Nadia about to give birth, the Sassy Mama team recently became aware of Love, Bonito and its new Embrace Maternity Collection, which aims to help women look and feel their best so they can make the most of every moment of pregnancy – before, during and after. Each piece – in fashion forward colours and prints – is designed to grow and move with your belly and bust. And every piece comes in at under $50!
“At first sight the styles looked very simple,” says Nadia, “but the magic happened when I actually put them on. They just flatter the pregnant body very well, and didn’t make me feel like a whale — especially at the last stage of my pregnancy (which is where I was at this photoshoot). I actually felt pretty in all of them. Love this collection!”
Love, Bonito took real women’s feedback into account when designing the collection, inviting real mamas to focus group sessions and a private preview of the collection so they could share what mattered to them and provide feedback on the designs in progress. Case in point: Nadia herself, who picked her favourite looks and in fact stars in this little photo shoot that we put together with superstar photographer Sabrina Sikora!
With a mix of brand new designs, as well as adaptations and updates on bestsellers from their main line, LB Woman, the Embrace Maternity collection gives pregnant and postpartum women clothes that are comfortable yet stylish and – most importantly – affordable, with pieces starting from just $33.90. As Nadia demonstrates, mamas can look and feel great in through an incredibly exciting and beautiful period in their lives.

We all love a maxi dress and this stunner you’ll keep wearing no matter what stage you’re in. Designed in a silky fabric that drapes elegantly, and a detachable tie sash means you’re free to adjust the fit to suit your growing belly. We also love the Rose colourway that’s ultra flattering for all skin tones.
Nadia says: “The colour immediately won me over! It’s very simple up top but love how they add something a little different with the hemline so it’s not too boring. Lastly, definitely prefer it with the sash as that enhances the bump and makes it look elegant instead of frumpy!”
You can wear this breezy kaftan even if you aren’t pregnant, and you can dress it up or down. The pleat at the back moves and grows with you as your body evolves. Available in a gorgeous rose hue, too.
Nadia says: “Again – that colour – wow! This is nice enough to wear as an evening dress, even, with the right accessories! But also switches easily to a daytime dress.”
A great outfit for the office, the very soft and breathable fabric of this sleeveless blouse drapes so elegantly. And the origami fold at the front end doesn’t just look nice, but handily accommodates a growing bump.
Nadia says: “If I needed office clothes, this would be it. It’s really hard to find affordable, tasteful maternity wear for the office.”
Designed to be comfortable, functional and stylish, the Leyen dress is a reliable go-to for lazy days. The ruched details at the side seams flatter both your curves and your belly.
Nadia says: “Bodycon dresses are one of my go-to’s for maternity wear, so this one was definitely a winner. Very comfy, too, to lounge around in all day!”
We love this Violetta dress and it will look amazing on you whether you are pregnant or not — period. A breezy silhouette adapts and evolves with you, and provides elegant swing and movement as you stride.
Nadia says: “This one just says FUN — I’d wear it to lunch with friends and love the light fabric.”
