OWIS Newton has only just opened its doors, but has already won praise with parents for its central location, inclusive community and thoughtfully-designed spaces that inspire learning.

If you’re on the hunt for a school that’s both conveniently located and provides top-notch education while not compromising on a nurturing community, you need to have One World International School (OWIS)’s new Newton campus on your radar. Located centrally in the city, just minutes from Little India MRT, OWIS Newton has just opened its doors and already, it’s fast becoming a top choice for families living in and around the area. We explore the buzz of OWIS Newton and how its inquiry-led, kindness-based learning approach wins hearts with parents.

A campus designed for young explorers

OWIS Newton

Like the OWIS Nanyang Campus and OWIS Digital Campus at Punggol, OWIS Newton will foster learning through inquiry, helping students develop academically while building strong values, character and communication skills. The school caters to Early Childhood and Primary School learners aged 3 to 11. Its thoughtfully-designed campus aims to spark discovery and exploration, from the Discovery Zone, where kids can move freely between guided lessons and imaginative play, to the Reading Nook, perfect for nurturing a love for reading.

Art and imagination take centre stage in the Art Studio and Maker Space, while the Friendship Hall brings everyone together for performances, celebrations and morning assemblies, fostering a sense of belonging and building on the school’s community spirit.

A kindness-first approach to lifelong learning

OWIS Newton

One of the things parents love most about OWIS Newton is the close-knit community. OWIS Newton Campus is the school’s third campus in Singapore, following the success of its established Nanyang Campus in Jurong West and its purpose-built Digital Campus in Punggol. Known for its welcoming multicultural environment, the school is committed to nurturing kind and inclusive learners and bringing out the best in them. That sense of inclusion was witnessed when OWIS Newton recently welcomed four new students, a few weeks after the campus opened. As Mrs Angela Henderson, Principal at OWIS Newton, said, “At recess, it was impossible to tell who the new students were. Our students embraced them so naturally and warmly—it’s exactly the spirit we strive for.”

Plus, students also benefit from additional language lessons in Japanese, Chinese or French, which help them appreciate different cultures, along with their own, and develop communication skills confidently. OWIS Newton’s central location also gives easy access to city sights and exhibits, which bring endless opportunities for hands-on exploration. Already, students have been taken beyond the classroom on neighbourhood walks to Mount Emily Park, visited the National Museum and explored the canopy area of the Alfa Centre building. These activities are all part of OWIS’s inquiry-led, curiosity-driven approach.

Without a doubt, it’s easy to see how OWIS Newton has won hearts among parents who value both convenience and community.  Curious to see the OWIS Newton campus for yourself? Book a campus tour to experience the inclusive and kind OWIS Newton community first-hand.
