Each year, this unique event captivates audiences with its distinctive performances, seamlessly combining creativity, skill, and humour. The showcase presents performances that aim to intrigue audiences by offering them unique perspectives into curated experiences. This year’s lineup pays tribute to the ordinary and invites audiences to reconsider everyday items often overlooked. Get ready to be captivated at Flipside as international artists from different genres such as puppetry, circus, physical theatre, and comedy unveil unexpected POVs into these ordinary objects through thought-provoking performances. 

Esplanade’s Flipside features local, regional and international artists from Spain, Australia, South Korea and more. Notable performances include “Stars in Our Eyes – A Double Bill,” which explores how imagination can transform everyday objects like tin cans to tell stories, “The Distraction”, a one-of-its-kind performance combining physical comedy, humour, and cinematic effects, and “Flou Papagayo”, a unique circus show from Spain, which features rarely-performed acts such as hair-hanging! In addition to these highlights, Flipside offers a plethora of other programmes and workshops for the whole family, and some are FREE!
