Christmas time in Singapore can feel a little strange. Instead of scarves and boots we’re walking around in singlets and flip-flops, and there’s certainly no snow in sight. But good news, mamas: Stamford American International School is doing their part to kindle the Christmas spirit with a family movie day in their state-of-the-art theatre!
Take in the classic The Muppet Christmas Carol starring Michael Caine on Saturday, 6 December in Stamford’s Reagan Theater on an enormous LCD screen (one of the biggest in Asia!). There will also be free popcorn, because what movie would be complete without it?
Littlies age 2 and up can also make Christmas arts & crafts throughout the morning, but the big finale happens after the movie with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! They’ll even be handing out goodie bags for all the nice (but not naughty) children in attendance, so make sure the kiddies are on their best behaviour!
Not to worry mamas, we haven’t forgotten about you. Stamford’s lovely parent café will be open throughout to keep you caffeinated, and we hear there will be Christmas cookies on hand as well.
Best of all, Stamford is giving away 300 FREE tickets for this Christmas movie extravaganza to Sassy Mama readers who RSVP with the form below. Make sure to let them know your name, number of adult tickets, number of children’s tickets, and schools they currently attend. There needs to be at least one adult on hand for every four kids to keep the tykes in order, mama.
So deck the halls and don your most festive apparel (the theater’s air-conditioned, after all), and enjoy the movies on us, mamas!
The Stamford Christmas Movie Event will be on Saturday, 6 December in the Reagan Theater. Registration opens at 9:30am; movie screening starts at 10:15; and Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive for a meet-and-greet following the end of the movie at 11:40am.
