Give three cheers for the mamas of UFIT who are running an ‘Amazing Race’ to support addiction treatment in Singapore, mama!

Send positive vibes to the lovely ladies at UFIT, who this Saturday will proudly take part in this year’s WE CARE Amazing Race to be at the forefront of helping people overcome addictions.

If you’re not familiar with WE CARE, it’s the first non-denominational outpatient addiction treatment centre in Singapore. WE CARE offers professional counselling, crisis intervention and drop-in services to individuals struggling with all forms of addiction, including drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex addiction, eatng disorders, Internet and shop-lifting. WE CARE also runs family workshops to educate relatives on how they can best support affected loved ones. In short it is a truly amazing organisation unlike anything else in Singapore!

“The most common addictions people think of are drugs and alcohol – but there are so many other types of addictions out there and they are more common than we realize,” says Head of UFIT Bootcamps Lisa Clayton, will be joined by three teammates at the four-hour scavenger hunt around Singapore.

“We believe that exercise, nutrition and wellness are amongst the best ways to overcome all types of addictions and at UFIT we are big believers in enhancing not only the body, but importantly, the mind also.”

The WonderGirls of UFIT – consisting of Lisa and her three UFIT teammates, Wendy Riddell, Jacqui Browne and Sue Mason – are coming together for the Amazing Race to raise awareness of this cause and hopefully help people with addictions find that exercise can make a world of difference.

“We really encourage people to check out the website and donate to the wonderful We Care cause, knowing that every little bit of support will make a difference,” says Lisa.

And don’t forget to cheer the ladies on and follow their progress via their Facebook and Instagram pages next Saturday 5 November. Good luck, ladies!
