Astor International School teaches students core content within a four-hour school day, leaving plenty of time for play and extracurricular activities! (Psst! Don’t miss the admission fee waiver code!)

A boutique international school in Singapore, Astor International School (rebranded from Razum International School) caters to students aged 5 to 12. In addition to the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Astor International School also bases its overall curriculum on Singapore English and Singapore Math. Unlike most international schools, your child won’t spend an entire day in the classroom. Instead, a typical school day can be four hours long!

Shorter hours, more effective learning

The four-hour academic day is a point of pride for Astor International School – something that really sets the school apart from others. “We believe that shorter hours make learning more effective and efficient, as students are more focused on core subjects such as Mathematics and English,” says Shannon de Winnaar, the school’s Principal. This ensures that core subjects are taught without interruption – and during a child’s best learning time. While the academic day focuses on English, Maths and the IPC, Astor International School also instils a love of art, music, sports, dance and drama in students through a wide range of extracurricular activities (ECAs). “The academic day begins at 8:45am and ends at 1pm, and our students can participate in ECAs until 3pm. This, we feel, is vital to their cognitive development, and also nurtures a sense of community among students,” adds Ms. Shannon. Additionally, this holistic approach guarantees students daily outdoor time, too.

Flexible, affordable and personal

Astor international student body means more than just numbers in a classroom to teachers and staff. Personalised attention for each child is top of mind here, and class sizes are kept small for this very reason – only 18 students to one teacher! What this really means is that teachers can easily adjust the curriculum to customise your child’s learning. But this doesn’t mean that you’ll have to deal with exorbitant fees, as Astor offers two flexible fee plans that can be broken down into monthly instalments instead of paying per semester.

Use promo code SASSYRAZUM to get a $1,700 admission fee waiver. Valid until 30 April 2022
