How to Get Your Staycation or Child Care Expenses Reimbursed in Case of Emergencies

Post Category - InsuranceInsurance

With kids, you just never know what emergencies will come up! This insurance plan reimburses your ticketed event or staycation expenses if your child is hospitalised due to an accident or infectious disease

How many times have your fun plans been ruined by falling sick after catching an infectious disease or an accidental injury in the family? There’s nothing worse than cancelling a non-refundable outing or staycation that’s been planned months in advance due to emergencies! And as much as we wish we could park the kiddos at home and still attend ourselves (admit it you’ve thought about it!) we can’t bear to leave them behind… But what if we told you, you could get reimbursed for your non-refundable expenses?

NTUC Income has launched PA Secure, an all-new affordable Personal Accident Insurance plan starting from just $68/year. It also provides two new lifestyle optional benefits that you can add on to the PA Secure Insurance at $18/year (each rider) – Child and student care expenses and Event and staycay expenses. This is on top of the four key personal accident benefits that come with the plan: Accidental Death, Permanent Disability, Medical Expenses due to injury and Daily Hospital Income, all 4 of which cover not just accidents but also infectious diseases such as Dengue Fever, Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and Varicella aka Chicken pox! Watch the video below to see the PA Secure plan in action, and keep scrolling for more info!

How to get reimbursed up to $500 if you are hospitalised or suffer injury

Child and student care expenses optional benefit

After getting the family plan with PA Secure, all you need is an additional $18/year (per insured child) to enjoy the Child and student care expenses¹ optional benefit. If your little one has caught an infectious disease from their classmate or fell due to an accidentally push and is unable to attend child care or student care but you’re still required to pay the child care or student care fees on those days, you can get up to $500 reimbursement in childcare or student care fees incurred! This is eligible when your child suffers an injury or caught an infectious disease, and is hospitalised for at least 4 days, or on certified medical leave for at least 5 days.

For example, if your child falls ill from an infectious disease such as hand, foot, and mouth disease in the child care (we know how often that happens, don’t we?) and you’ll have to take urgent leave, you can have peace of mind knowing your kiddo’s child care fees can be reimbursed if they’re on certified medical leave for at least 5 days.

Event and staycay expenses optional benefit

With another additional top-up of $18/year (per insured child or person), you can take advantage of the Event and staycay expenses² optional benefit. If you or your child is unexpectedly hospitalised due to accident or infectious diseases and is unable to attend a planned ticketed event or staycation with the family, you can get up to $500 reimbursement for the non-refundable expenses incurred by the insured person due to hospitalisation.

We don’t know about you, but from $68 a year for an individual plan sounds like a great way to safeguard against accidents. Plus, there are plans for families and couples, which allow you to save more if you choose to protect your loved ones. For example, 4 pax per family would cost $272 a year if you purchase individual plans, but a family plan that covers unlimited dependant children and 2 parents starts from only $195 a year. It’s great value if you ask us!

BRB, we’re signing up for this plan right now!
