The newest jewellery shop on Serangoon Road wows with elaborate gold, baby bling and a live video shopper

It’s a glittering stretch of shophouses along Serangoon Road where the biggest brands names in traditional and contemporary Indian jewellery compete with each other for your attention. The competition maybe tough, but new entrant, GRT Jewellers (a well known brand in South India) are confident that their 4,800 square feet and two levels of shophouse space will soon be wowing customers with their gold, silver, diamond and platinum jewels. GRT’s designs are both traditionally Indian and even modern and contemporary.

The display cases are packed with bangles, necklaces, rings, earrings for men, women and even children (yes mama, they have baubles for babies, too!). We spotted everything from intricate Indian bridal necklaces with peacock motifs to delicate gold ear tops for a baby’s first piece of jewellery.

Jewellery for adults begin at $150, while the gold butterfly­-shaped earrings for little ones we had our eye on were $98. They have a carefully curated range that has been brought to Singapore specifically, but GRT’s network of 38 stores across Asia (including their massive flagship outlet in Chennai) boasts a huge variety of designs, all of which are available for your pickings via GRT Live.
