22 May – 31 December 2021
Returning for its third edition, Gallery Children’s Biennale is going “phygital” this year, with activities and exhibitions happening online and offline. Guided by the theme “Why Art Matters, this year’s Gallery Children’s Biennale will feature nine commissioned online works and on-site installations by local and international artists. Children will get to go on various online adventures via interactive online games, animated stories and digital artmaking. Categorised according to the themes of Home, Time, Diversity and the Environment, the pieces on display aim to inspire kids to embrace values such as acceptance, openness and diversity and provide them with a space to unleash their creativity. They can also expect somatic workshops, storytelling sessions and games, which are all inspired by the artworks.
The online experience is available from 22 May to December 2022 at childrensbiennale.com. The on-site installations for Gallery Children’s Biennale will be available from 4 September 2021 to December 2022 at National Gallery Singapore.
