Between Two Trees: A Different Kind of Preschool Experience in Singapore

LearnPost Category - LearnLearn - Post Category - SchoolsSchools

From its outdoor garden to its Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to Mandarin immersion, Between Two Trees Early Learning School at Loewen Gardens is a different kind of preschool!

Looking for a different kind of preschool experience in Singapore, mama? Between its strong focus on outdoor play and visual arts, along with a localised curriculum that provides a solid foundation in math and science, the engaging project-based Between Two Trees Early Learning School is definitely worth a look.

B2T’s Reggio Emilia-inspired emergent curriculum combines both project-based and structured learning to ensure that children not only develop a passion for grasping new concepts through in-depth exploration, but also that they receive a solid foundation in core subjects like language, mathematics, science and Mandarin.

Between Two Trees incorporates Reggio Emilia’s stirring provocations and project learning, along with beautiful materials and environments (have you seen their brand new, gorgeous building at Loewen Gardens, mama?). It’s also received training from Bing Nursery School (Stanford University’s lab preschool), and provides rich learning experiences from Bing’s research into learning materials including blocks, clay, water, sand and paint.

Meanwhile, every classroom has both an English and a Mandarin-speaking teacher to give children as much exposure to Mandarin as possible. The school has also just launched an afternoon Mandarin enrichment programme called Mandarin Immersion – The B2T Method in which children will get to explore the school’s proven project-based curriculum exclusively in Mandarin (an example of a past project was learning all about shoes, from how they’re made to where you go to buy them, measuring their sizes, visiting a cobbler, even designing and prototyping their own shoes!).

Through discussions, stories and songs, Chinese writing and calligraphy work, and visual arts, children will deepen their understanding of literature and the arts, while also boosting their language skills. They’ll be so immersed in the fun of their chosen projects they won’t even realise how much they’ve learned!

Want to know more, mama? Be sure to visit Between Two Trees Early Learning School’s Open House on 20 February, 2016. And if your little one is still a ways off from school, consider their Baby-accompanied class, which employs song, drama, play, visual arts and exploration for little ones from 6 to 18 months, and makes for a smooth transition to B2T’s Pre-Nursery Programme.

A beautiful environment, dedicated and diverse teachers, and a thoughtful approach to meaningful, quality education…what more could you want in a preschool, mama?
