Watch How CIS’ STEAM Approach Empowers Students To Find Success In The 21st Century

CIS is going beyond the traditional approach to teaching by integrating a unique STEAM approach across its entire school that creates future-ready learners.

Teachers at CIS use the STEAM approach to encourage students to think about the connections between Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Maths, through problem-solving and creative thinking. Check out our video below to see how CIS primary school students are presented with exciting, hands-on activities that give them the opportunity to make connections and solve real-life authentic problems.

CIS’s STEAM approach not only helps students think critically and approach problems from different perspectives, it also encourages collaboration, research and creativity –  essential skills needed in the workplace by everyone no matter what their passions or interests are!

From Grade One onwards, CIS exposes students to STEAM experiences in their stimulating makerspace rooms. These are part lab, part shop, part conference room, designed to foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and design thinking. Students build and work on projects together using equipment that is both traditional (such as woodworking machinery and sewing machines) and cutting edge (such as makerbot 3D printers, GCC laser engravers and cutting machines).
