Singapore's giving 10/10 for creative playgrounds these days! We checked out this new giant lobster playground in Pasir Ris, and it does not disappoint. The giant lobster itself is packed with fun and exploration, including lots of climbing, a very popular fireman pole and two slides that are the lobster's pincers. This area also includes a climbing bridge, a small trampoline, small swings and a mudskipper slide and an obstacle course for little ones.

Over at the opposite blocks, you'll find more mangrove-inspired playgrounds--one with a towering treehouse and lots of climbing nets, obstacles and spinning, and another toddler-friendly playground with sensory elements.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲:
- There are lots of benches for taking a breather.
- There are also some great shaded areas--the HDB blocks also kind of "shelter" the playground from harsh direct sunlight, at least in the evenings.
- There's really so much for the kids to explore at these two playgrounds!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
- As the playgrounds are located within the vicinity of HDB blocks, there are no public restrooms on site.
- The playground also gets very crowded on weekends, and little ones may have to wait their turn on some of the more popular features like the fireman pole, trampoline and climbing bridge.

There’s a fly farm in Singapore that houses a breeding facility for Black Soldier Flies, where thousands of larvae help break down organic waste like banana peels and compostable cups while turning them into fertiliser. As part of Income Eco Run 2026, parents can register for this eco experience at ENTO Industries as a parent-child learning journey and enjoy a complimentary asparagus workshop, while individual sign-ups are available too!

Visitors can explore the facility through a guided tour of the breeding space, get up close with the larvae at the hands-on learning zone, and see how these insects feed and process the waste.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲:
- Kids get to see and touch the moving larvae up close
- Explore different zones of the facility through a guided tour
- Learn about sustainability in an engaging and fun way
- Feed the farm’s chickens with the larvae

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲:
- Wear covered shoes and comfortable clothing
- The space has strong farm smells as it is a working facility

This year’s festival features a whimsical forest theme complete with fruit characters, fairies and more that feel like you’re stepping into a fairytale. Explore fruit-themed zones including the Grape Fairy Garden, Watermelon Summer Park and Banana Playland. Don’t forget to snap photos with the Pineapple Hero, the 6-metre-tall Durian character and the Great Apple Tree too! Families can also join balloon sculpting workshops, where kids can learn how to twist their very own balloon bear or octopus to take home.
