NFL fans, listen up! Wondering where to watch Super Bowl LIV in Singapore? Here’s where to catch the big game!
Super Bowl Sunday may be a de facto American holiday, but what happens when you live halfway around the world and the football game is actually played bright and early Monday morning? Just swap out beers and guacamole for some strong coffee and pancakes, of course! Thanks to modern technology we can even still watch all the great commercials (here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming…)!
This year’s game matches up two of the league’s most storied teams, both of whom dominated throughout this season by averaging about 30 points per game. The Kansas City Chiefs, who played in the very first Super Bowl but haven’t made an appearance in 50 years, are led by their electrifying young quarterback Patrick Mahomes (see above for the kind of magic he can work).
Meanwhile the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most legendary teams of the 1980s and ’90s, have made a commanding return to glory this year on the back of their crushing defense after a few fallow seasons. Their quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo (aka “Jimmy G”), has also inspired a bit of a cult following owing to his movie star good looks (swoon)!
Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show
Even for those not too fussed about football, Super Bowl LIV delivered a stellar halftime show, with Jennifer Lopez (damn, the lady makes 50 look good!) and Shakira delivering a booty-shaking 14 minutes of fun.
Where and When
Super Bowl LIV is happening at 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time Sunday, 2 February 2020 in Miami, Florida which means 7:30am on Monday, 3 February for us here in Singers.
Watch at Home
The game will not be shown on TV in Singapore (boooo!). However, there are other options for watching it at home:
If you or your husband happen to be traveling at this time, this handy article includes a rundown of international broadcast and streaming options.
If you want to watch on TV at home, your best option is to purchase NFL GamePass, which allows international viewers to stream the game on any mobile device or their TV. At US$25 it’s not cheap, though!
Within the US, Fox will be streaming the game. I’m no tech whiz, but if you have a VPN you may be able to figure out a workaround.
Unless you’re superstitious (like I am!), football games – and especially the Super Bowl – are way more fun to watch with a crowd. Even if your team’s not in the game, why not rep them by heading down in your favourite jersey or t-shirt? With many spots in Singapore hosting breakfast Super Bowl viewing parties, be sure to book early, mama! Check out our full list below…

While I’m sad that my beloved Patriots will be sitting out the game this year, that just means I’ll be able to watch with a lot less stress while still rooting for an exciting game (and the 49ers…Jimmy G is a former Patriot, after all!).
