How is your kiddo spending school holidays this Easter? Use them wisely: supercharge their English skills the fun way!
So your kids are on school holidays! Put that one or two weeks to good use — British Council’s Easter Camps are a fun way to boost your child’s English language skills (written and oral), plus it’s a brilliant move to make new friends from all over the world.
British Council has over 70 years of experience in teaching English, so it’s easy to see why it’s one of the top choices for kids’ English classes in Singapore. The Easter Study Camps are aimed at Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students (ages 4 to 15) who speak English as a foreign language. There is a one-week course or a 2-week course, and topics change daily so it’s always interesting. Plus these half-day camps offer a great opportunity for your kids to make new international friends over the course of a fun-packed morning.
British Council’s English Language Easter Study Camps focus on:
- Improving English grammar and vocabulary
- Boosting oral confidence and communication skills
- Games and fun activities
- Exciting project work in different themes
For Kids 4-6 years old:
Classes for kindergarten-aged students (specially designed for non-readers and writers) involve arts and crafts, games and competitions, songs and music. Topics range from parts of the body to dinosaurs and transport. Kids will be building cardboard box houses, and making animal masks and musical instruments. Lessons are hands-on fun with English vocab woven into each activity so learning is seamless. Plus the teacher to student ratio is excellent: with both a teacher and a class assistant present, there’s one adult to every six children.
Primary and Secondary Students:
Older kids need a different focus while still being engaged. British Council Easter Camps use a mixture of games, projects, drama and communicative activities. To get kids practising their English communication skills, students are encouraged to interact in pairs and small groups. This is how kids bond and great friendships are made at camp. Older kids will learn about topics like Festivals around the World or Space Exploration, and will work towards giving a presentation about each topic to their classmates. Don’t be surprised if your child’s new confidence in English results in improved confidence in general — as it’s always an achievement delivering an idea to your peers!
If you’re keen to put your young learner’s holiday time to good use, look into the one- or two-week Easter Camps at the British Council and your kiddo may come back with more than just better language skills and of course a certificate. New friends, improved self-confidence and good memories of fun times await!
