Majestic Restaurant

Majestic Restaurant was a favourite for many when it was at New Majestic Hotel on Bukit Pasoh Road. After the hotel closed last year, there was a long pause while we waited for Restaurant Majestic to resurface. Good news: Chef-owner Yong Bing Ngen is back, this time in swish new digs with floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the CBD.

Majestic Restaurant offers Cantonese cooking and the menu showcases a mix of old signatures and new dishes, too, like Pan-Fried Carrot Cake With Pork Sausage In XO Chilli Sauce ($15), Claypot Hor-Fun With Fresh Prawns In Egg Gravy ($24), while new dishes include Roasted Ireland Silver Duck in Peking Style served with handmade rose pancakes, scallion and cucumber and the unusual dim sum of Chee Cheong Fun made with organic brown rice and served with Hakka-styled lei cha (thunder tea) sauce!
