How the Bridge to Grade 2 programme works

GIIS’s Bridge to Grade 2 programme is designed to create a seamless transition from Kindergarten (K2) to Grade 2. With this programme, Grade 1 joiners can smoothly transition to Grade 2 once the next academic term starts. So, for example, if your child starts Grade 1 in January 2026, they are able to then join Grade 2 in April 2026.

So, how is this done? GIIS teachers specialise in using differentiated instruction and accelerated learning to fully prepare Grade 1 students for the next grade. Over here, kids are given the support and confidence to master key concepts in Mathematics, Literacy and Core Skills. Once your child is successful in achieving their expected learning outcomes, they are then eligible to transition to Grade 2 in the next term. You’ll also get to choose a programme that best suits their learning style, whether it’s the IB PYP (International curriculum) or CBSE (Indian Curriculum).
