Mamas, we’re sure you don’t need to be reminded, but one of the best things about living in the fabulous Little Red Dot is the seamless mix of city life with world class beaches just a stone’s throw away. So if, like us, you love nothing better than gathering the family and spending a beautiful day by the seaside, then you better get ready for some fun and frolicking because here’s our ultimate guide to the top 10 beach clubs in Singapore!

1. Tanjong Beach Club
There can’t be many people in Singapore who haven’t heard of Tanjong Beach Club. A hit with families and groups alike, this luxe beach club offers indoor and outdoor dining, a large pool, huge bar and some of the biggest and comfiest sun loungers around.

By day you can relax, chill out and enjoy the views on one of the most premium spots on Sentosa with an all-day menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. While they focus on seafood, we think they make a pretty mean burger. Tanjong is also pet friendly, so it’s ideal if you don’t want to leave those pooches at home.

Once all the kiddies have gone home and the sun has gone down is when Tanjong Beach Club comes out to play (so depending how up for it you are, you might want to head home with them mamas!). From beer pong on the beach to live DJ’s – if you’ve ever fancied a beach party, Tanjong Beach is certainly the way to go.

Minimum spend of $200 on weekends with Saturday offering two slots for seating. From 10 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm.

Tanjong Beach Club, 120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 098942, 9750 5323, www.tanjongbeachclub.com
Open: Tues – Fri 11am-11pm, Sat & Sun 10am-11pm

2. Coastes
Part of 5-in-1 beach club C-Side, Coastes is one of the most familiar names on the Sentosa strip. A laid-back and distinctly rustic venue, Coastes is your one-stop-shop for everything from lazing on the beach to grabbing some lunch and even some sundowners while the kiddos have fun in the sand.

C-Side is perfect for an all-day trip: start the day topping up the tan on one of the comfy sun loungers or if you’re going all out, hire one of the cabanas. Famous for their cocktails, they also serve up some simple but scrumptious meals (a lot of fried food to please picky little eaters!).

With live music a real feature at Coastes, you can expect anything from live DJ’s to Jazz with them hosting their annual 5-day Jazz By The Beach festival during the summer.

Coastes, #01-05, 50 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 099000, 6631 8938www.coastes.com
Open Mon-Thurs 9am-11pm, Fri-Sat 9am-1am, Sun 9am-11pm

3. Sand Bar & Flame
The ultimate beach-hut bar, Sand Bar & Flame is also part of the C-Side Beach Club. Serving no-frills drinks and lip-smacking beach grub, kick off your flip-flops and chill out all day at Sand’s cozy beach hut.

There’s live music on every weekend, with local and visiting musicians playing a range of reggae, soul, jazz, blues and more.

A fabulous spot for groups of friends or a relaxing and romantic date-night, head down to Sand Bar & Flame and enjoy chilled tunes as the ocean breeze whistles past.

But if it’s daytime dwelling you’re after, C-Side Beach club offers spacious sun loungers as well as cabanas right by the water’s edge. There are even changing facilities to help you wash the sand off the teeny ones.

Sand Bar & Flame, 50 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 099000, 6274 9668, www.facebook.com/SandbarSingapore
Open: Mon-Thurs 10am-11pm, Fri & Sat 10am-1am, Sun 10am-11pm

4. Bikini Bar
As the younger sibling in the C-Side Beach Club family, Bikini Bar is the more boisterous and action-packed option, so you might want to boogie on down sans kiddos.

Serving a wide selection of beers (it’s actually Singapore’s first and only Bintang bar, serving Bintang beers) and cocktails, head to Bikini Bar for beachfront partying, pumping tunes, refreshing drinks and fun beach games such as beer pong, twister, life-size Jenga and pool.

Hosting regular beach parties like their monthly Beerkini Rocks party, Bikini Bar is definitely one those looking to let their hair down and party, party, party.

Bikini Bar, #01-06, 50 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 099000, 6631 8938, www.bikinibar.sg
Open: Mon-Thurs 2-11pm, Fri 2pm-1am, Sat 11am-1am, Sun 11am-11pm

5. Wave House Sentosa
Mixing surf, music, food and drink, Wave House is a 70,000 sqft beachfront party spot with sister locations in Durban, San Diego, Santiago and Mallorca.

If you want a quiet day on the sand, then this beach club with a difference might not be for you. If you do however like a side of action with your sun, then try the FlowBarrel or FlowRider wave rides. Both are simulated surf machines, ideal for anyone from beginners to experts. You’ll be the coolest mama in town if you bring the teens down to this hotspot…

Once you’ve worked up an appetite on the rides, head on over to the restaurant which overlooks the sea and serves a delicious range of Californian-Asian fusion fare. Looking for sundowners? There’s Barrel and Rider Beach Bar, which serves up some typically sporty-themed yet deliciously punchy cocktails.

Wave House also hosts regular events such as live concerts, beach parties and surf camps.

Wave House Sentosa, 36 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 099007, 6238 1196, www.wavehousesentosa.com
Open: 10.30am – 10.30pm daily

6. Azzura Beach Club
One of Singapore’s first beach clubs, Azzura is a multi-level beach side playground with indoor and outdoor dining, nightclub space and a swimming pool.

Offering casual drinks and food throughout the day, Azzura is a fabulous all-day weekend getaway. You can relax on the sand, play a few rounds of volleyball on the beach court and when the sun goes down, head inside to The Harem nightclub.

With a reputation for thumping tunes and flowing drinks, this always packed club has one of the best ladies’ nights too with some of the best tropical cocktails we have tasted.

Azzura Beach Club, 46 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore, 6270 8003, www.azzura.sg
Open: Mon – Fri 10am-10pm, Sat 10am-2am, Sun 10am – 12 midnight

7. Myra’s Beach Club
Relaxed, friendly and inviting, Myra’s Beach Club is a favourite neighbourhood hangout. Serving an unusual mix of Mexican and North Indian cuisine, their food (like the venue) is unpretentious and delicious.

Not strictly on the beach, it does however have gorgeous views of the ocean from their outdoor terrace and is just a stone’s throw away from the sand and surf.

A popular spot for water sports such as wind-surfing, head up to Myra’s after working up an appetite on the waves for some good grub, the occasional live music session and the relaxing sound of the waves. And if you don’t fancy a big, flashy weekend, then grab some buddies and head to Myra’s but get there early because Saturday nights and Sunday brunch are notoriously busy in this 120-seater spot.

Myra’s Beach Club, 1390 East Coast Park, Singapore 468961, 6443 3005, www.myrasbeachclub.com
Open: Tues – Sun 11am-12 midnight

8. Bora Bora Beach Bar
Featuring all-day dining with BBQ dinners, light snacks and a mix of Western and local classics, Bora Bora is a relaxing beachfront spot on Palawan Beach. For those of us who’ve left our hard-partying days behind,  it’s a welcome break from some of Sentosa’s more club-styled beach spots.

There’s indoor and outdoor terrace dining, a cozy bar with a pool table, plus sun-loungers and tables on the beach too, ideal for when you just can’t summon the energy to move.

Un-pretentious and relaxed, this is the ultimate beach bar for groups or couples looking to unwind and have fun.

Bora Bora Beach Bar, 82 Lighthouse Beach Walk Palawan Beach, Sentosa, Singapore 099981, 6278 0838, www.borabeach.com

9. Mana Mana East Coast Club
Originally opened in Bintan, Mana Mana brings their signature brand of beach-side fun to Singapore’s East Coast. They offer all sorts of watersports, from sailing and surfing to kayaking and paddle-boarding.

There’s outdoor dining, a fab bar, private function rooms, beach volleyball, a gym, shower and changing room facilities and a pool; all right on the beach!

Members only, their Water Sports Membership starts at $1070 for a one-time joining fee and $26.75 monthly subscription after that. This membership includes discounts on water sport rentals, use of all the facilities (including the pool), exclusive members-only offers and vouchers for the F&B facilities.

Mana Mana’s al fresco restaurant, Sailors Pavillion, is open to the general public, serving Mediterranean and local cuisine. Adrenaline junkies will love Mana Mana’s huge selection of activities happening all year round.

10. Sunset Bay Garden Bistro
Originally set up in Sentosa, Sunset Bay moved up the East Coast, bringing their relaxed beach vibes with them.

While not exactly on the beach itself (nor do they provide changing or shower facilities), Sunset Bay does have lovely ocean views with relaxing al fresco dining in a “beach garden” setting.

Serving a mix of Western and Asian food such as fresh salads, pizzas and fiendishly spicy curries, all to be washed down with refreshing ice cold cocktails (don’t miss out on their mojitos!)

It’s great for a spot of romance on date night or catching up with friends over casual drinks. They’re usually packed during the weekends in the evenings but also host plenty of F&B promotions during the week, such as Thursday’s couples’ night with 50% off your second drink, or happy hour prices all Wednesday night. There’s also a big free car park next door making travel to and from a lot easier.

Sunset Bay Garden Bistro, 1300 East Coast Park (Carpark F2) Singapore 468964, 6448 9060, www.sunsetbay.com.sg
Open Mon-Thurs 5pm-12 midnight, Fri 5pm-1am, Sat 11am-1am, Sun 11am-12 midnight
