East Coast Park offers plenty of recreation from cycling (Gocycling East Coast Park is a fave spot to rent bikes) to water sports and wakeboarding, and with numerous playgrounds not to mention East Coast beach, one of Singapore’s best beaches, there’s enough to do for a full family day out! East Coast Park Beach

East Coast Park beach is one of the best beaches in Singapore so it’s no wonder that families flock here. There’s lots of space for fun sandcastle-making and the water is generally safe for water play and swimming along the shore.

Marine Cove Playground at East Coast Park

The massive, 3,500m² Marine Cove playground is zoned into two separate areas for littles (aged 2 to 5) and bigger kids (5 to 12). Read our full review of East Coast Park’s Marine Cove playground here.

Tip: make sure you go there in the early morning or late afternoon, as this outdoor playground is not covered.

Also a heads up – it’s right next to McDonald’s, so you may get a request for some french fries or a hot fudge sundae after a whole day of play.

Coastal PlayGrove Playground

East Coast Park Cycling & Bike Rental

East Coast Park is perfect for cycling, but the highlight has to be the 5.4-hectare East Coast Cyclist Park, which is super fun for all cycling skill levels, from little ones with training wheels all the way up to cycling pros.

In addition to the challenging cycling paths, the Cyclist Park also features a lovely nature play garden complete with a mini obstacle course — perfect for keeping little ones occupied even if they’re too small to ride a bike.

If you don’t have your own bicycle, there are plenty of bicycle rental options at East Coast Park. Choose from a variety of kids’ bikes, regular bikes, mountain bikes, tandem bikes, family bikes and even rollerblades from any of the bike rental shops below.

Road Safety Park within East Coast Park

The Road Safety Community Park is free and open to the public and has been around since the 1950s. It’s currently almost abandoned and very much unloved but still okay to cycle in the last time we checked – with circuits for cycling or rollerblading. NB: The Road Safety Community Park will be partially closed for repair works until 17 July 2023.

Rollerblading & Skating: East Coast Xtreme Skatepark

If you have an in-line skating or skateboarding kiddo at home, chances are the Xtreme Skatepark at East Coast Park — located near Car Park F1 — is their big-kid playground.

But head over there and you’ll see that even little kids look like pros at the skate park, whether on skateboards, balance bikes or rollerblades! Many of the shops listed above also provide rollerblade rentals; you can also check out Inline Culture (Carpark C3).
NB: Both skating bowls at Area F1, Xtreme SkatePark, will be closed for repair works till end-Dec 2023. The skating circuit remains open.

East Coast Park: Water Sports

Being on the coast, water sports are a natural part of family-friendly East Coast Park. On windy days kids and adults alike can take sailing lessons at one of the sailing clubs dotted along the park, or try wakeboarding to enjoy the water while getting a workout!

Dinosaurs at Jurassic Mile

Check out the 3.5km cycling and jogging path that links Changi Airport to East Coast Park! The Changi Airport Connector is home to the Changi Jurassic Mile, Singapore’s newest and largest permanent outdoor display of life-sized dinosaurs. Kiddos will love spotting over 20 pre-historic creatures, from a towering Tyrannosaurus Rex to gigantic dinosaur eggs. Start your journey from East Coast Park via the Changi Coastal Park Connector. If you’re coming from Changi Airport, consider getting bikes from bike rental shops like GoCycling’s newest outlet at Hub & Spoke Changi Airport and return them at any of the seven other GoCycling outlets around Singapore.

How to Get to East Coast Park

Getting to East Coast Park by MRT: Take the MRT to Marine Parade (Thomson-East Coast Line). East Coast Park is a 400-metre walk from Marine Parade station.

Getting to East Coast Park by car: East Coast Park is accessible via the East Coast Parkway (ECP) and East Coast Service Road. The park stretches over 15 kilometres from Mountbatten to Bedok and encompasses multiple highway exits and about 10 car parks in total. So be sure to know where you’re heading and try to figure out the nearest car park. For closure info on East Coast car parks check here.

Getting to East Coast Park by taxi: There are plenty of car parks along the park where you can be dropped off. Decide which part of the park you’d like to visit and it should be relatively easy to find a nearby drop-off point on the map.

Getting to East Coast Park by public transport: Thanks to Singapore’s pretty connected transportation, there are plenty of buses that go to East Coast Park. Take any of these buses to East Coast Park: 10, 134, 15, 150, 16, 36, 43, and 48
