NFL fans, listen up! Wondering where to watch Super Bowl LII in Singapore? Here’s where to catch the big game!
Super Bowl Sunday may be a de facto American holiday, but what happens when you live halfway around the world and the football game is actually played bright and early Monday morning? Just swap out beers and guacamole for some strong coffee and pancakes, of course!
Real talk, mamas: I’m a diehard New England Patriots fan, so I can’t profess any sort of journalistic objectivity here as they prepare to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Neither would you, if you had the greatest coach and greatest quarterback of all time who basically hold every playoff record.
But I digress. Of the seven Super Bowls the Patriots have played during the Bill Belichick / Tom Brady (AKA Mr. Gisele Bundchen) era, none has been decided by more than six little points. The Pats always bring the drama. Case in point: last year’s thrilling 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons, in which they overcame a 28-3 deficit and won the Super Bowl’s first ever overtime game.
This year’s game matches up the two teams with the best records in the NFL, and each has both a formidable offense and defense. The Eagles lost their starting quarterback to injury three quarters of the way through the season, yet in their previous game two weeks ago his backup played near-perfectly and led them to score 38 unanswered points (that’s a lot!). So who knows what’ll happen on Monday. Best to watch it for yourself!
This year also marks the triumphant return to the halftime show of one Justin Timberlake, who made his last appearance in 2004 (another Pats win, nbd) during the infamous “Nipplegate” incident. Who wouldn’t be curious to see what he does this time around?!
Where and When: Super Bowl LII is happening at 5:30pm Central Standard Time Sunday, 4 February in Minneapolis, Minnesota which means 7:30am on Monday, 5 February for us here in Singers.
Watch at home: If you’ve got cable, the game will be broadcast on the Sports Illustrated Channel. That’s Channel 129 on Singtel, and Channel 215 on StarHub.
If you or your husband happen to be traveling at this time, this handy article includes a rundown of every channel in the world that broadcasts the NFL!
Viewing parties: Unless you’re superstitious (like I am!), football games – and especially the Super Bowl – are way more fun to watch with a crowd. Even if your team’s not in the game, why not rep them by heading down in your favourite jersey or t-shirt? With many spots in Singapore hosting breakfast viewing parties, be sure to book early, mama!
