What are your weekend plans? Check out these fun (mostly free) kid-friendly things to do this weekend!

EDITOR’S PICK: Adopt a Dog!
SOSD
(run by a group of volunteers who look after the welfare of Singapore street dogs) is holding an adoption drive this Sunday 4th February 2018, 12pm – 4pm at Downtown Gallery @ 6A Shenton Way. There are some super adorable puppies and dogs up for adoption. Think carefully before you adopt a new pet as it is a commitment but for those ready to open their home to a loveable dog – this is the perfect time! Pre-register for adoption here.

Visit a Fire Station for FREE!
Fire stations all over Singapore are waiting for little firefighter fans to join them on a tour of the fire station. Kids often get to have a go using the water hoses to spray and climb all over the firetrucks, try on fire helmets, and see firemen (and women) sliding down the pole! The most famous fire station is Central Fire Station (read about it here), but pretty much every local fire station is open on Saturday mornings to the public and your local one may have more time to chat to youngsters. Click here for more info and the full list of locations!

Now you’re ready for a rock hunting party! The next one is this Saturday 3 February – and it’s Valentines-themed. canadian international school steam fair

EDITOR’S PICK:  STEAM carnival fun for FREE!

This carnival full of rides, live music, (massages for parents ahhh), and experiments was so much fun last year that we can’t wait to take both the big and little kids along this year. There’s a chance to see how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math are everywhere with activities like creating ice sculptures, building a giant spiderweb city and even developing an electronic device using snap circuits! All the info here.

Located at Level 1 walkway along Coach (#01-35), you’ll need to spend a minimum of $30 to participate in one craft workshop, $50 for two or $60 to join all three workshops.

Check out the CNY Paws-perity Carnival for FREE!

If Julia Donaldson lines your shelves, this theatre ensemble is for you!

Watch kids perform music at the  Singapore International Violin Competition 2018
Inspire your own budding virtuosos as they watch the world’s top young violinists compete in the final live rounds of the Singapore International Violin Competition 2018. The Semi Finals are taking place this weekend at YST Conservatory of Music.
