Diversity at SJI International

SJI International was established in 2007 and offers a Lasallian Catholic foundation that welcomes a diverse community of students, teachers, parents, friends and supporters of all faiths and cultural backgrounds. In fact, the diverse student body of 1,800 students comprises more than 40 nationalities, rooted in the context of Singapore. The school runs from Prep 1 to Grade 6 in the Elementary School, and Grades 7 to 12 at the High School level, where students graduate with the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

The Virtues Project at SJI International

SJI International takes an open-minded and holistic approach to education, but its Catholic foundation sets the school apart thanks to its special emphasis on values and character education. It’s a school where students “learn how to learn and learn how to live,” with a goal of empowering them to become people of integrity, and people for others.

At the Elementary School level, values and principles are underpinned by the renowned Virtues Project, a global grassroots initiative championed in over 100 countries to inspire kindness, justice and integrity.

With the Virtues Project, SJI International students are empowered to live more authentic, meaningful lives through acts of service and generosity, and by practicing virtues such as compassion and integrity. The Virtues Project and the thematic curriculum combine to reflect the school’s international mindedness and prepare students to be global citizens who take responsibility and action change through their commitment to service and environmental sustainability.

Academics at SJI International

The thematic curriculum aims to instill a curiosity for learning that empowers children to become resilient critical thinkers. In academics, as elsewhere, students are encouraged to pursue excellence and achievement of their own personal best.

SJI International’s Elementary School follows the Singapore Maths programme, along with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for Humanities and Science. The school draws on both the English National Curriculum and components of the American system to create a best-practice Language Arts programme, and there’s also a strong emphasis on music, drama and sport.

Ultimately, SJI International is a place where students can grow and develop in a safe and nurturing community.
