PCF Sparkletots’ Future Ready Fair is back, promising plenty of fun for the whole family! Let your child explore future-ready skills and discover amazing inventions!
From solutions to reduce paper cuts to inventions like the Splatter-Stopper for safe, oil-free cooking – at PCF Sparkletots, your child can create innovative ideas like these and more. With their STEMIE programme (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Invention, and Entrepreneurship), your child will learn future-ready skills that set them up for success in primary school and beyond.
The upcoming Future Ready Fair will highlight over 170 impressive inventions from PCF Sparkletots preschoolers. The event is scheduled to take place at two locations over two weekends in September and October and promises a range of family-friendly activities and engaging workshops for children aged 4 to 6.
Nurturing young innovators
During PCF Sparkletots’ STEMIE lessons, children are encouraged to identify potential real-world problems. These problems can span from everyday experiences to social issues in Singapore, such as distractions caused by classmates or the challenges faced by elderly individuals with dementia. Once they have identified the problem, children are encouraged to use problem-solving skills to brainstorm creative solutions.
During this process, children build essential critical thinking skills and will also learn to develop resilience and positivity as they experiment with different failed and successful ideas. This will in turn nurture confidence and communication skills, equipping them with the future-ready skills to tackle real-world problems like a champ. The programme also encourages creative expression and design thinking. Children will learn to understand and appreciate different perspectives as they work on their inventions.
The PCF Sparkletots’ STEMIE programme also provides exciting opportunities for your little inventors to showcase their talents in local and international competitions. Past preschool students have impressively earned awards at events like the Singapore Invention Convention.
Future Ready Fair 2024
The Future Ready Fair 2024 offers a unique opportunity to see the inventions created by PCF Sparkletots preschoolers.
There will also be exciting activities for the whole family. Kids can enjoy hands-on fun at interactive booths featuring tech toys like Bee-Bot, Kubo, and Code-a-Pillar. These toys turn coding into a game, allowing children to navigate through mazes and develop essential skills like sequencing and problem-solving, all while having fun!
At STEMIE Tales, children can immerse themselves in interactive storytelling sessions. They’ll have the chance to explore the different STEMIE concepts as they solve puzzles and create inventions to help story characters overcome challenges. There’s also a free fan-painting session where kids can unleash their creativity.
The event’s highlight would have to be the STEMIE Possible Challenge, where participants are tasked to build the longest and strongest bridge using pegs and ice cream sticks. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three records for each day!
