Gateway Theatre is proud to present its very first all-Mandarin theatrical production, The Magic Paintbrush, specially tailored to kids aged five to 12. This story follows village boy Ma Liang who is pitted against the greedy Magistrate and offers profound lessons about kindness, selflessness and the importance of helping others. Through this inspiring folktale, your little one might just be inspired to care more for those in need.

2. Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster

Hands up who loves a puppet show! Kids will be enthralled with this fun performance based on the book by Mo Willems. Leonardo is a terrible monster! He tries so hard to be scary, but he just… isn’t. Then Leonardo finds Sam, the most scaredy-cat kid in the world. Will Leonardo finally get to scare the tuna salad out of someone? Or will it be the start of an unlikely friendship? Leonardo! 3. Karung Guni Boy: Young Children’s Concert 2024

‘What’s that loud horn coming from downstairs? Oh, it’s the Karang Guni (rag and bone) man who collects old items and recyclables! I wonder what story does he have?’ The Singapore Chinese Orchestra led by guest Conductor Lien Boon Hua takes us on a meaningful journey to uncover stories about the “Karung Guni Boy”, written by Lorraine Tan and illustrated by Eric Wong. This fun-filled musical adventure is performed in English and Mandarin and teaches kids about sustainability! *The concert is suitable for children 4 years and above. 4. The Dancer’s Fair (FREE!)

Not really a theatre show but a visual spectacle awaits at The Dancer’s Fair! Be wowed by a 5-meter-tall ballerina in the middle of Cathay Green. Join in the mystery and magic as she engages with the audience, eager to explore her new surroundings and learn the dance movements that the people of the city share with her. The fair includes old-school fairground attractions, including a whimsical “Ferris Wheel” specially designed for children, where special found objects like discarded seats and even toilet bowls take young visitors on an entertaining ride alongside lively characters sharing music and stories. The Dancer’s Fair is a testament to the artistry of Antigua i Barbuda, renowned worldwide for their mesmerizing machines that have graced parks, squares, and festival hubs.

5. Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party 2024

Are your little ones up for a ballet-themed theatre? Singapore Ballet’s new production – Peter & Blue’s Treasure Hunt – introduces Peter, his dog Blue, and his cat Calico in an exciting treasure hunt as they embark on a quest to discover hidden treasures in Singapore’s iconic landmarks. 6. Circus acrobatics: Flou Papagayo by Mumusic Circus

Flou Papagayo by Mumusic Circus is part of Esplanade’s Flipside 2024 festival. Flou Papagayo is a celebration of spontaneity and features song, acrobatics, games and audience participation. Look out for the rarely-performed circus discipline of hair-hanging! Flou Papagayo has won Spanish circus awards since 2018, including the 2018 Zirkolika award for Best Street Show and the 2019 Circaire Audience Award.

7. Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show

Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli are coming to Singapore for the June Holidays! Look out for a spectacular theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series Bluey about a cuter-than-cute blue dog and her family. Join the Heelers in their first live theatre show featuring brilliantly created life-sized puppets. 8. Kids’ theatre show: Peppa Pig’s Adventure

After a resounding success in the UK, Peppa Pig’s Adventure comes to the theatre in Singapore this June! 9. The Gruffalo at the theatre in June!

The much-loved musical adaptation of the classic picture book, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, The Gruffalo, returns to the iconic Victoria Theatre this June! This smash-hit musical adaptation presented by Tall Stories Theatre Company from the United Kingdom will take you and your kiddos on an exciting adventure through the deep, dark wood with Mouse as he encounters the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl, and the party-mad Snake on his quest for hazelnuts. 10. The Three Little Pigs: Mandarin & English theatre shows

Following sold-out runs of both the English and Mandarin productions, STC’s The Little Company is bringing back your favourite fairy tale – The Three Little Pigs but cleverly adapted from the classic fairy tale. This kids’ theatre show has plenty of humour thrown in and teaches little ones (ages 3 and up) how success can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Fans of Roald Dahl’s BFG will like the sound of this kids’ theatre show! Get ready for BURP, a heartening tale about a man who loves collecting sounds in glass jars, each one a doorway to a special memory or feeling. Every day, he carefully picks a few sound jars and plays them on his Incredible Sound Machine, transporting him back to extraordinary moments in time.
