TGIF Music Station is a fortnightly series of free music showcase organised by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) to promote local arts and culture and invigorate the Central Business District. Started since January 2018, the TGIF Music Station has served as a platform to showcase our local artistes, and provided audiences with different musical genres offerings every fortnight.
For the upcoming showcases in November and December, visitors can look forward to strong vocal performances by prolific individuals in the local music scene such as Olinda Cho, who represented Singapore in the second season of Sing! China; Benjamin Kheng, part of popular local pop outfit, The Sam Willows; local singer-songwriter Kenny Khoo, who has been topping the billboard charts in Taiwan; and Derrick Hoh, second runner-up in nationwide talent competition, Project SuperStar, who has since gone on to release nine singles and two albums.
The showcases will also include the rising stars of our local music industry, including Chriz Tong, who is widely known as the “Queen of Theme Songs” for her work in television dramas; Lorraine Tan, founder of music movement “My Singapore Project”; a Capella group, The Apex Project, who is known for their pop and jazz repertoire with a theatrical twist; and four-piece alternative pop band, The Façade.
A one-for-one drinks promotion at SCCC’s resident F&B establishment Deja Brew Café will be available during the evening session of the TGIF Music Station.
