Time: 6.45pm – 10pm
Lovebirds in search of a novel getaway this Valentine’s can look forward to a wild affair at River Safari’s newest camp experience—‘Romance by the River’. Ignite the spark by sharing in unforgettable wildlife experiences and tuck each other into bed alongside a herd of majestic manatees.
Exclusive to an intimate group of 15 couples, guests will start the evening on 15 February 2019 as a tram whisks them away to a private clearing next to the scenic Upper Seletar Reservoir. A host of nocturnal animal ambassadors wait to greet them for up-close interaction and photo opportunities, followed by a gourmet 4-course dinner in Singapore’s first luxury tipi tent, complete with air-conditioning and plush furnishings.
For a restful night, guests will retreat into the tranquil Amazon Flooded Forest in River Safari, where the world’s largest freshwater aquarium houses the park’s resident manatees, arapaima and other freshwater fish. In private tents complete with air mattress and sleeping bags, snuggle up to your significant other and drift off to sleep as the manatees float by.
Start the next day on a high by dining next to Singapore Zoo’s flagship orangutans at the award winning Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife programme. Conclude the romantic escapade with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of River Safari’s Amazon Flooded Forest. After spending the night next to the manatees, learn how they thrive under the care of River Safari’s aquarists. Guests have the rare opportunity to observe an aquarist’s training session with a manatee and get a taste of life as an aquarist with hands-on food preparation and feeding sessions with 1.8m long arapaimas and silver arowanas.
