Following the sell-out launch of The Nomad Series in June, with James Beard nominated pastry chef, Jason Licker, the team behind Singapore’s sexiest supper club has announced who will be taking reigns in the kitchen to write chapter two of the epicurean tale. Designed to celebrate renowned and adventurous chefs who have embarked upon a journey to push international and culinary boundaries throughout their career, each chapter of The Nomad Series sees an internationally acclaimed chef create an exclusive feast for Singaporean diners through the Middle Eastern lens that is signature to The Ottomani.
The next talent to take over the kitchen at The Ottomani has been unveiled as Chef Coskun Uysal, from Tulum Turkish Restaurant in Melbourne, who will be showcasing a 6-course menu for one night only on Wednesday 15thAugust. Istanbul born Chef Coskun Uysal studied the art of gastronomy in London before moving to Australia, where he has made a name for himself for raising the benchmark of modern fine dining. As Owner and Executive Chef of contemporary Turkish restaurant, Tulum, Chef Uysal introduces Middle Eastern gastronomy that combines Turkish flair with Melbourne’s fine dining finesse, making a table at his restaurant one of the most sought-after in town, being one of Australia’s 100 Top Restaurants. The philosophy behind his concept is to offer refined dishes with a playful touch; Coskun’s menu inspiration was largely influenced by his childhood memories, encompassing Anatolian cooking, fresh ingredients, and inhouse preserving, smoking, curing and pickling techniques, which Chef Uysal’s own mother used in the family kitchen.
