Embracing Animal Pop by Jecko Siompo
Involving up to 15 select adult-child performers, Jecko Siompo’s Embracing Animal Pop is a mobile participatory performance that will unfold across the National Gallery Singapore. The performance is a 2-day performance as a result of a 5-day dance workshop by Jecko Siompo, and will take place across the Gallery’s public spaces. Adult-child pairs will use the “animal pop” dance style—pioneered, practiced and taught by Siompo—that fuses animal-inspired movements and the more urban styles of pop and hip-hop.

Siompo’s practice as a world-renowned choreographer and performance artist has taken him to festivals and venues across the world, and this performance is in response to the Gallery Children’s Biennale 2019 theme of Embrace. This performance is free and no registration is required.
