From 20 May 2017, Hari Raya Light Up 2017 will return, and Geylang Serai will dazzle with a spectacular display of lights and new larger-than-life installations modelled after items often associated with the Malay culture and heritage. Visitors will get to admire the street decorations and can look forward to a wide array of activities, which include a performance by Ramili Sarip – Singapore’s very own “Papa Rock” – as well as kompang (drum) and tarian (dance) performances.
The official launch will be graced by Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who will join visitors in soaking up the festive atmosphere.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 20 May to 7 Jul 2017 (except 26 May and 24 Jun), 7.30pm Stage at Kembangan-Chai Chee Community Hub / Open space adjacent to Engku Aman and Sims Avenue
Visitors looking for a place to gather with close friends and family members, while immersing in the festive atmosphere, can look forward to enjoying cultural performances such as kompang, Malay dance and karaoke. There will also be screenings of popular classic Malay movies such as P. Ramlee films.
