From 12 May to 30 June 2018, Hari Raya Light Up 2018 will return, welcoming visitors to Geylang Serai with a dazzling display of lights bearing cultural icons, such as a kampung house, sampan and mosque. Visitors will get to admire the street decorations and can look forward to a series of entertainment programmes, including performances by Sufie Rashid – the first Singaporean to win Malaysian singing reality TV show ‘Akademi Fantasia’ – as well as rentak (rhythmic performance) and tarian (Malay dance) troupes.
Geylang Serai Bazaar

The Geylang Serai bazaar is one of Singapore’s most-loved pasar malam and will bustle with about 800 stalls selling delectable dishes such as Ramly burger, kebab and vadai; traditional goodies such as kuih tart (pineapple tarts) and kuih bangkit (tapioca cookies); as well as decorative items, traditional costumes and more.

Teams of three (including a non-Malay Singaporean and a new Singapore Citizen, as well as a Singapore Permanent Resident or Employment Pass holder) will race within the boundaries of the bazaar and Geylang Serai Heritage Trail to discover nuggets of information about Singapore’s Malay heritage.
