This October, ‘Ori Tahiti Singapore will be launching a series of free workshops as part of Got to Move, an initiative by the National Arts Council (NAC).
Workshops for Adults
Dress code: Simple top with a sarong/scarf, water bottle, barefoot in the studio
If you have always wanted to learn ‘Ori Tahiti, come have fun and learn the story behind Tahitian dance, its rhythms and the meaning of its graceful gestures at the workshop. Be prepared for an excellent cardio workout that will help strengthen your core, abs, legs and glutes! Classes are suitable for ladies aged 17 and above.
Basics: Introduction to ‘Ori Tahiti, be familiar with the dance steps and the traditional rhythm

‘Aparima: Learn a choreography of an elegant Tahitian song with lyrics

‘Ote’a: Learn a choreography with traditional drum beats and music that is a signature of ‘Ori Tahiti.

Workshop for Kids
Dates: Saturday, 13th, 20th & 27th October 2018
Kids class: 10am – 11am
Teens class: 11am – 12pm
Dress code: Simple top with skirt or sarong/scarf, water bottle, barefoot in the studio
In 3 classes, kids (aged 3 and above) will learn the basics of ‘Ori Tahiti that is accompanied by traditional drum music, what’s more they will also learn choreography to a song from the movie! Meanwhile our more accomplished teenage ladies (aged 12 and above) will also learn the basics plus a more challenging choreography.
