CARPS LEAPING OVER THE DRAGON’S GATE

The carp is an auspicious symbol in the Chinese culture. According to a well-known legend, once a carp successfully leaps over the celestial Dragon’s Gate, it transforms into a powerful dragon. This story tells of courage, perseverance and accomplishment.
Watch a special performance showcasing the richness of Chinese culture, including a carp dance with the biggest dragon fish in Singapore to date. This performance is one not to be missed.

Vibrant colours brighten up the Gardens this spring! Take a photo with the carp lanterns painted by many creative hands from different community groups.
Fish symbolise abundance and happiness, and carp in particular represent strength and determination as they are known to swim against the current.
