It isn’t very often that one gets to sample a truly gastronomic modern twist to South Indian cuisine. Known for their pan-Indian cuisine with a modern twist, Flying Monkey will be introducing a two night only exclusive dinner event with Chef Sowmiya Venkatesan of MasterChef Singapore on 4th and 11th December. What better way to welcome in the year-end festivities!
Fresh from competition, Chef Sowmiya’s dream has always been to start her own restaurant, and for 2 nights only, Flying Monkey presents her dream on a platter, marinated with loads of authentic Indian spices. Her philosophy on food is simple – It should be fun, tasty and balanced; A good plate should offer a balance in texture, flavour and colour.
The 4-course dinner ($45) will feature a specially curated traditional south Indian feast which includes an Amuse Bouche of Medu Vadai with Neer Moru, Curry-leaf Poori with Potato Masala and Tamarind chutney, and a tasting platter of Pepper Mushroom, Coconut Cabbage, Raw Plantain fry, Pumpkin Sambar with Coconut, Lemon and Tamarind Sevai. For non-vegetarians, there is Pepper Prawns, Coconut Cabbage, Spicy Chicken Stir-fry.
