Ring in the New Year the traditional Japanese way by immersing yourself in an exclusive line up of events at Liang Court from 26 December to 6 January! With activities ranging from a traditional taiko drum performance to a bento making workshop, there’s definitely something for everyone!
Kick-off Shogatsu with a bang on 1 January with a taiko drum performance by the Hibikiya Group, followed by a sake opening ceremony which symbolises an opening to harmony and good fortune. Stick around for a mochi pounding session to end off the day’s activities on a sweet note.
The festivities continue over the weekend with a roaring Shishimai performance to bring good luck for the year ahead. Then, get crafty and try your hand at making your very own Shogatsu souvenir at the onigiri card holder workshop**, bento making workshop**, or daruma beads coaster workshop**.
