If you fancy a ready-made dish for the Christmas table – swap turkey for a hefty 1.8kg chicken with their take-home dish of Spit-Roasted Chicken with Orange and Rosemary complete with roasted seasonal vegetables such as brussel sprouts and carrots (at $38+/$68+ with a bottle of wine). If you don’t fancy cooking a whole turkey this Christmas (those things are big!). Then there’s nothing wrong with a good ole roast chicken instead (pure-ists look away now!). Malaysia-based Mr Wee is a one-man band who delivers fresh chicken to your house. He offers smaller free-range ‘local’ chicken and non free-range American breed chickens. If you are expecting a huge family gathering for Christmas then it’s worth driving out to QB Foods in Jurong to their warehouse, however they do deliver to your door if your order is over $200 (cash only). Their website is easy to navigate and you can choose from a great selection of fresh Aussie beef as well as cheeses, deli items, yogurts and dry goods – buy in bulk and it’s often cheaper than most supermarkets.
