You’re Invited: Singapore’s First Family Stroller Race Run & Walk

Be a part of the first ever Stroller Race Singapore, mama! Run or walk with your bubs, do a family fun run, or enter the kiddos in a special kids’ dash for your shot at winning some incredible prizes!

This year may be winding down but there’s already so much to look forward to in 2016, mama, starting with Singapore’s Inaugural Stroller Race, happening on Sunday, 17 January! Sassy Mama is delighted to be partnering with fab sponsors like Compressport, ActivHealth, E3sports and more, all in the name of encouraging families to be active together, and we’ve even got a special $10 discount off the entry fee for Sassy Mamas and their families!

The Stroller Race will be a 5k run around the Singapore Sports Hub with four different categories:

• The Stroller Run
• The Stroller Walk
• 5k Family Fun Run
• 50-800m Kids’ Dash (age 2 & up)

Whether you’ve got a new baby at home, mama, or you’re a seasoned runner who loves bringing the little one out and about with you, there’s a whole range of ways you can participate together. We love that the kids’ races are all about showing children how fun it is to be active: kids will get to participate in a fun pre-race workshop that introduces them to training and healthy nutrition, while the non-competitive races will see them running around the track in waves of 6, with a special medal for every child who finishes.

As a little added incentive, the Stroller Run is offering some pretty amazing prizes, including a Baby Jogger City Elite stroller for first place, an overnight Legoland Holiday for second place, and an awesome product hamper from the event’s sponsors worth over $400 for third place. The top three runners will also win a variety of cool running gear from Compressport. There will also be lucky draw prizes for six runners and walkers in the other categories, including two different strollers from Baby Jogger, holidays at Legoland and Sentosa, and more!

No matter which category you sign up for, you’ll be surrounded by other active families who are all about a healthy lifestyle. Along the race route you’ll find themes like “Love and Respect”, There for each other”, “Determination” and “Togetherness”. We can’t think of a better way to start instilling qualities like resilience, hard work and positivity in our little ones!

Category Rules:
5km Stroller Run: All children in strollers must be at least 12 months of age
5km Stroller Walk: There is no minimum age to participate (babies 6 months and under must be in bassinets or age-appropriate strollers with adequate neck support)
5km Family Run (no strollers): Participants must be at least 6 years of age
Kids’ Dash: 50m (age 2-4), 60m (age 5-6); 400 (age 7-8); 800m (9-10 and 11-12)
