The European publishing house Benzer-Publishing started in 2006 with a small print-run of the book EatSweden. The idea started in Stockholm where the founder, Jochen Schmelzer, lived at the time. He realized that he and his friends always visited the same restaurants in the same parts of town. To encourage his friends and others to try out restaurants in other areas of the city he started the book EatSweden as a yearly publication.

From day one the concept has been 12 restaurants, hand picked and recommended by the city project managers. The idea being to try 1 new restaurant a month. The selected restaurants have been tried several times and are shortlisted based on the food, service and ambience. The restaurants want to thank you for purchasing the book and visiting them, by offering you the 2nd main course on the house. Every year we publish a new edition to feature our latest dining discoveries.
